The AI Arts Festival 2026 took over Winchester, transforming Theatre Royal Winchester and The Arc Winchester into a living showcase of creativity powered by artificial intelligence.
From AI-driven music and theatre to immersive installations and hands-on experiences, the festival brought artists, researchers, and the public together to explore a bold new creative frontier. Highlights like Robot Filmmaking and AI Mozart blurred the line between human and machine, turning audiences into active participants in the art itself.
Presented by AI@Southampton and organised by the Web Science Institute, in partnership with the Southampton Institute for Arts and Humanities and Winchester School of Art at the University of Southampton, the day proved one thing: the future of creativity isn’t coming – it’s already here.
